4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun, and not just for kids 5 Aug 2011

The cover makes this look like a more child-oriented Marvel film but it's actually one of the better Marvel releases regardless of age. It features the descendants of the Avengers and it explores the traits they have inherited from their famous parents. They face great peril and learn to work together as part of a team, becoming heroes their parents would be proud of. I don't want to spoil too much in terms of who is in it from the Avengers that we know from comics but suffice to say there are some familiar names.

The animation is a little "cutsey" for my taste but the plot is solid, the voice acting is spot on and I can honestly say I enjoyed this more than either of the other two Avengers Marvel animated films.

It's well wroth the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but not great either. 3 May 2010
I own the other avengers movies and I liked them alot, which is probably why I'm so disappointed with this.

Good points,
1. It's cheap, buy it and make up your own mind
2. The hulk does return... not exactly how I hoped but he is there.
3. It's a completely fresh alternate universe thing.
4. It contains a small comic outlining the creation of the features villain.

Bad points,
1. There's little to like about the kids in this movie.
2. What happened to their parents isn't shown... ok it's the death of marvel heroes and this is a kids feature but...
3. Weak storyline and battles.
I have to tie this in because I think they're connected. Battles are what anybody would watch a marvel animated feature for and so the storyline has to be built around them. This has the kids of heroes going up against the villain that their parents couldn't defeat... make sense to you?

4.0 out of 5 stars The Next Avengers 19 Feb 2009
I bought this dvd along with the Ultimate Avengers thinking initially that the story line would be quite light and for a younger audience (a bit like Teen Titans) but I was pleasantly surprised that the action and storyline had broader appeal for adults also. A nice pacy animated film that will keep you and a not too young audience engaged.
