Book Description

What do you do when a killer targets the people you love most? A searing thriller from the SUNDAY TIMES bestselling author of SAY GOODBYE. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Product Description

FBI Agent Pierce Quincy is haunted by his daughter's death in a drunk- driving accident. Pierce knew about his daughter's problem with alcohol, and about her loneliness. And so, he is sure, did the man who killed her. Rainie Conner is an ex-cop with a past overshadowed by violence. She was once involved with Pierce in a harrowing case that brought them together personally and professionally. Then he came to her rescue. Now it is time for her to help him. This killer is different. He has an insatiable hunger for revenge - and for fear. He isn't satisfied with taking his victims' lives, he wants to get inside their minds and strip them of every defence. And his target is Quincy's only surviving daughter. Rainie believes that only way to stop him is to put herself directly into the killer's murderous path and become - the next accident.

This is the third Gardner book I've read, and the best so far! There was an interesting plot and the mystery continued through to the end. In some novels a reader can guess the ending quite early in the book, this was not the case here. This book has made me a fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Someone help me put this book down!, 19 Feb 2004

This review is from: The Next Accident (Paperback)
'The Next Accident' brings two characters from previous books back together in a horrific case. Quincy an FBI agent is about to lose those most precious to him. Who is doing this, and why? At times you will just want the book to end, and at other times you hope to be this compelled to read forever. In the classic terms this book is unputdownable. If you like Lisa Gardner you will love this. Buy it and read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If this story was a film it would have you on the edge of, 12 Aug 2003

your seat!

The describtion of the characters and places is amazing. The way Lisa Gardner protrays each individual is mindblowing. It actually has you feeling like you have known the characters all your life. that you have watched them on television.
This story will have you reading it religiously. not being able to put it down it is that good.

The characters of Rainie and Quincy and their relationship while Quincy's wife is killed along with his eldest daugter Mandy is written really well. you can actually feel his heartache along with his youngest daughter kim.

In the end you would never think the killer is who it is.
An excellent piece of writing that has you guessing to the end.

A must for everyone!
