I'm not going to go into whether the claims made for this gel (on the label it claims to be effective against Poliovirus, HIV-1, Herpes virus, Influenza virus H5N1, surrogate of SARS, Hapatitis B and C viruses) are accurate. I can only assume that 3M can back up those claims, so will not question them.
What I can say is that this gel comes in a bottle that is a convenient size for keeping in a typical office bag, has never leaked in my experience, and leaves hands feeling cleaner. Assuming the claims made for it are correct, then I cannot fault this product. The office that I currently work in has various hand gels and foams around the building (in an attempt to limit spread of swine flu), so I've used a number of different types. Of the gels that I have tried, this 3M one is the one that feels nicest and dries quickest.

Smells nice, probably works well,

Obviously I'm not in a position to test out the claim that it kills a whole variety of very scary germs etc, but I've used it during my travels where soap/water were not forthcoming and I haven't yet had food poisoning. So I suppose it works well.
Having used a whole bunch of hand sanitizers, though, I think this smells the nicest - unlike the awful blue Boots hand gel. The viscosity of this gel is just right too - not too watery, and yet not too thick. For this reason it doesn't tend to clump together in the nozzle, which happens to some other gels. All in all, a pretty nice product, though a little expensive.
