3.0 out of 5 stars The Warning 18 July 2012

For the first novel from this author I was impressed with the storyline, however sometimes the way of writing was a bit simplistic but having said that I can't wait for part II.

1.0 out of 5 stars Be Warned!! 18 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Firstly I really enjoyed the book. Far fetched yes but it is a sci-fi book what do you expect! The reason for 1 star is the book is split in 3 and sick of waiting for the second part to come out. I wouldn't buy this book unless the second and third ones have been released. For a new author trying to get started there is sadly a lacking of communication from them.

Good storyline and refreshingly straightforward. However, I found the visit of an alien more believable than the ease at which the governments of the world joined forces, and perhaps some conflict would have given a more enjoyable story. Nevertheless, it was very readable and the technological detail well thought out and pertinent. The characters themselves play their parts well, and with the imminent arrival of the enemy, I look forward to reading the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different 1 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The idea for this is good, but sometimes it is so silly, as if the world would pull together as in this book !!! no chance, however if you come home from work and just want to forget everything this is not too bad, i like the general idea behind the book and therefore will read any sequels, kind of just to see if it gets better or worse, give it a try youcould do worse.

clever, fun, lyrical, vibratingly refreshing - really enjoyed Part One of this trilogy and am eagerly anticipating the others. The main characters are actually believable, they are very humanistic in nature and the plot is dramatic and enterprising

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good read 25 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading parts two and three. Yes the writing is a little almost old fashioned, rather than simplistic, at times a little like reading and sci if book written twenty years ago. However, this makes the book easy to read and the characters believable. I found my self really caring what happened to them. I also liked the optimism of the book despite its grim premise. Strongly recommended.

Very enjoyable story but sometimes the science bits went on a touch too long leaving me skimming over sections. All in all, looking forward to part 2!
