Enjoyable Read 6 Jun 2008
Format:Hardcover
I really enjoyed this book. The author has captured the spirit of Newmarket and tells the often hidden stories behind the racing scene. It's interesting, very well written and the photography is superb.
For me, this is the very best type of book about sport - plenty of detail for those racing fans who know lots, but also much of interest for armchair enthusiasts who simply watch the odd race on the tv. It would make a great gift.

A really facinating read. The book gives what feels like real depth to a hidden world.I especially liked the way the author has not just focused on what seems to the unititiated , as the glamourous success stories- but has tackled the grittier side as well.I guess the word I'm looking for is 'flavour'.
The book also looks great- the sort you can leave casually lying around on the coffee table for guests to pick up and put down knowing they will have been engrossed-as I was.
