This USB extension adapter allows you to connect your USB device to your computer at a distance of up to 150ft with the help of a Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 patch cable (LAN cable not included). Could not see any reference to USB Specifications and stupidly assumed that it was USB 2.0. Product arrived and it is made VERY clear (twice) in large type that this is USB 1.1

OK I got this to extend USB by about 10 meters... It cant even cope with that. So I tried a shorter cable (Abt 5 meters) and even that it struggles with - it workks but on boot the computer often hangs during post when initialising USB devices - and it does not do that with this disconnected.
Will have to try a more expensive extender but I fear that may not help.

I read other people's negative reviews of this product but decided to take a risk rather than spend £50 on a more expensive model. I wanted to extend Logitech's new air mouse across CAT5E cable from my server (sits in my garage) to my lounge where I watch movies and naturally need to control the server. This is between 25-30 metres and it works absolutely perfectly. I actually tested it over double this distance (I sent the USB signal from a laptop in my lounge, down to my garage, through my patch panel, and back up to my lounge (a total distance of around 50m, maybe a little more) and the product still worked fine. Yes it is USB 1.1 but if that is what you want (fine for mice, keyboards, etc) then no problem at all. It wouldn't be suitable for connecting external drives.

I bought one of these extenders for my mouse & keyboard. Without much use the product has ceased to work.

Rubbish
This device doesn't support USB 2.0 AND it wont work properly without using a switch/hub for the CAT5 cable to go through (no power on the the CAT5?). Read more
