3.0 out of 5 stars Newchurch-in-Pendle: Review, 25 Sep 2006
This review is from: Newchurch-in-Pendle Folklore, Fact, Fancy, Legends, Traditions and Information: Lancashire (Paperback)
This is a damn good little work on the history and folklore of this small township to the east of the legendary Pendle Hill, telling of many little-known sites and legends. Some of the material here has never previously been published and the main source of interest (from my point of view) is the mass of lost folklore: from the ghosts at old standing stones and haunted wells, to little-known witches from the Pendle region, and ancient sites long forgotten by record books.

It's a home-produced little booklet, not of modern-day standards, but that shouldn't detract from the mine of info found herein. To anyone interested in the forgotten history of east Lancashire, this rare booklet's a treat!
