This is a delicate, intricate collection of poems on motherhood. It is challenging and occasionally slight oversweet for me. At no point does she mention the exhaustion of motherhood, never does she feel fed up with her baby or any slightest sense of negativity towards motherhood. But perhaps that's just my issues coming through, perhaps because my baby is now older and more challenging! Generally speaking this book is a wonderful collection to give to any mother, it will bring back that warm glow of new motherhood, and inspire you in the wonderful hard graft which is bringing up a baby. Good for giving to new mothers, and pregnant women who are feeling nervous about the whole enterprise.
