Product Description

Product Description

Aperture 3.2.1 is the ideal photo-editing program for the casual or professional photographer who needs the power of Photoshop without the hefty price tag or the learning curve. Since Aperture was first introduced in 2005, Apple has added a host of technical features, including RAW editing, brush adjustments and curves to satisfy advanced users, while streamlining the intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes it easy to upgrade to Aperture from iPhoto. The launch of Aperture 3.2.1 also includes a bevy of iPhoto-friendly image management features, along with iCloud and photo stream support, making Aperture a dual program for image processing and file management/photo sharing.

This guide includes step-by-step tutorials for image editing, image management and photo sharing, along with screenshots documenting each step in the process. From retouching photos and organizing libraries to sharing images and printing professionally designed photo books, we’ll help you get the most out of Aperture.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong balance 16 Jan 2014

Far too much of this slim volume is taken up with peripheral things like making albums and e-mailing, and very little on the functionality most people buy Aperture for: the image retouching and adjustment tools. A disappointment.

A very useful if fairly short guide to the basics. Certainly worth the money. Nothing to add apart from that!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very much detail 6 Feb 2012

For 2.99 it isn't a big investment but there isn't much in here that you wouldn't get from watching the online videos on Apple's web site. The details are basic and the examples leave you wanting a little more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for serious users 21 Dec 2012

This is very basic and may be useful for someone who has only used iPhoto or another very basic photo editing program. I expected more in depth information which I found lacking in this book. Not recommended for someone serious about learning to use Aperture.

Helpful with the basics of getting started in Aperture. Not sure thought it would carry a person on into being a power user.
4.0 out of 5 stars Basic help. Worth the price. 10 Dec 2013

Nice general guide to starting Aperture use. I've used Photo Shop and now that I'm in the Mac World I bought the Kindle version of this as an aid. It pointed me in the correct direction to make basic fixes to photo's. Emphasis on IPhoto was not needed since I'm more independent than iPhoto requires. Good price.
