Product Description

Product Description

New Zealand is one of the most spectacular and least spoiled countries on the planet. This guide does full justice to its astonishing volcanic landscape, wildlife reserves and fjord-like coastline. It helps you get the most from your stay in New Zealand with the minimum of difficulty. The opening section locates the country geographically, sets modern New Zealand in its historical context and explains how life there changes through the year. "New Zealand at a Glance" is an overview of the country's specialities. The main sightseeing section of the book is "New Zealand Area by Area". It describes all the main sights with maps, photographs and detailed illustrations. In addition, five planned walks take you to parts of New Zealand you might otherwise miss. Carefully researched tips for hotels, shops and markets, restaurants and bars, sports and entertainment are found in the "Travellers' Needs" section, and the "Survival Guide" has advice on everything from posting a letter to visiting a doctor.

A wonderful guide book with beautiful pictures and desciptive maps. The illustrations are truly excellent. Seperate sections cover the different areas of New Zealand, with short but descriptive and informative narrative about all the places of interest. If this book does not make you want to visit New Zealand, then no other will. It is superb. I want to go again - NOW!
