Sheer Magnetism 10 Mar 2004
By SteveA
Format:Paperback
I have so far bought all the 'New X-Men' graphic novels and have enjoyed the new take on characters I have been reading about for a large part of my life.

This story arc gets away from the, 'high school life' stories that earlier editions contained - this time it is back to the action. An old enemy has come back - you'll never guess where that enemy was hiding (well,I didn't see it coming).

Good story, good art, genuine surprises and exactly what the publisher wants - you are left wondering what happens next and searching Amazon to see when volume 7 is going to be released.

What the... 30 Aug 2007

Oh dear, Grant Morrison has lost the plot. He forces this story so much its ridiculous. Xorn is magneto, didn't see it coming, you know why? it's a stupid idea that requires some ret conning to explain. On top of that, the magneto herein is pathetic, a junkie without any real clue. He even gets told what to do by toad. This is all horribly wrong, it is as if someone forced the writer to commit career suicide by writng this. That said there are some great moments within the story. The art is excellent, the reason I gave it two stars rather than one, or none if I could.

Basically, I think this is the best so far.

I only have one problem, why did they have to kill off that character, he/she, was my favourite, it's just cruel.

But other than that, it's great.

I won't say no more because I don't want to give much away.
