Brilliant 1 Dec 2006

Considering that Public Enemy should have theoretically outlived their relevence by now, they're still releasing great music, and this is no exception. Bring That Beat Back is the outstanding track for me, easily one of their best songs. Bonus DVD is good. Worth a buy, and they're pretty much giving it away these days.

New Whirl Odor is a quality piece of work. Public Enemy an album orientated group, are walking lonely new turf with others from the golden era retiring from their art.
Who is to say how members of a rap group should sound at the age of 45-46 these men mature the same way the rest of us do, we all mellow in our musical taste. The sad thing is the media continually compare them to Nation of Millions... because they want an angry Chuck D but there is nothing more sad than a mature artist still trying to compete with there heyday, Ozzy Ozbourne, The Cure, New Order etc etc.
The concept for this album illustrates a confused understanding of current political climate, and the lack of answers being given to us, 911, terrorism, Bush-Blair, man made diseases etc etc, Public Enemy illustrate this brilliantly....
If this is not the case and Chuck D is speaking from his heart and soul.....please get angry at our world for finally getting to C. Ridenhour the human being, not the man Chuck D that opened the minds of millions.

Bring that beat back 18 Oct 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Another top notch album by Chuck D and the boys. You know what to expect from PE and this lives up to expectations. Tough political rapping and dirty street beats, plenty of scratching and also some heavy guitar work on "Questions". Also features the brilliant "Put Yo Hands In The Air" collaboration with Moby.

Chucks rhymes seem even more relevant now than they did in the 90s, what with the war on terror that is causing more problems than solving, and the tragedy in New Orleans showing the world the appaling poverty that exists in the worlds richest nation. Don't just listen to his words, hear them, for they paint a picture of life that a lot of the US turns away from.
