This book is excellent for a beginner! I bought a flute around a week ago and this book has tought me alot of the general knowledge of the flute aswell as the practical playing. It teaches you how to play each note and giving you tips as well. Most of the piece are well known! It does the modules in easy to understand lessons and gives you a quick test every 5 or so lessons! Most of the lessons have a student and a teacher part which is good if you have a teacher but i don't! The best thing is that you can use the CD which is ideal because you can hear what you are meant to be playing! All in all i would highly recommend this book to anyone who is beginning the flute!

We bought A New Tune a Day for Flute: Book 1 [With CD],we were so impressed with this that we bought A New Tune a Day for Flute: Book 2 [With CD]. My eldest daughter has been playing flute for few months and was loosing interest in it, she found it so helpful to have a CD with this book and it was encouraging that she could play a lot of the tunes and is now working her way through the book. It's so much easier to play a piece of music when you know what it sound like. She found it helpful to have the fingering chart to help with notes she didn't know and found this easy to read. It revived her interest in the flute and she loves playing it again. One of the best things we have bought from Amazon.

bought this book at christmas and can play the tunes upto lesson 18 now(January 19th) nice gentle start and can listen to Cd to make sure the tune is corectly followed

Delivery
There was nothing wrong with the book. But having paid for next day delivery was very disappointed when it took eight days to arrive.
