The period after the American Civil War is something usually glossed over. But the detail here will answer a lot of questions you have, but didn't think there were answers too.

I was required to read New Spirits for an honors history class and overall the content was very interesting. The information is cluttered and the book itself is poorly edited; nonetheless, I learned a lot from reading it.

You will be forced to deal with obvious editing errors and it is VERY distracting from the information you will need for the tests. Some really good info from a terrible author.
