I bought a wired fm transmitter from amazon a couple of weeks ago and found it to be of ok quality but not perfect for the £30 i paid for it. I then saw this device advertised on here for a few pounds more. I decided to buy it, and wow I'm so glad i did. I have a htc sensationxe packaged with music which sounds absolutely spot on through my car stereo. In short, buy this product before anything else, it's well worth the money.

A complete waste of money.
I bought this for my wife's car and it worked for a week before it stopped connecting to her phone, I had it replaced and the new one worked for about a month or two and now it won't connect to either of our phones both of which are Samsung Galaxy (S4 and Mini).

Unfortunately i can't get a refund even though it's still within the one year warranty.

If I could give it 0 star I would, I feel I've just flushed £55 down the toilet.

It doesn't work while the car is running. And even if I get it to work by only turning on the power in the car, it works poorly.
This was with a Samsung Galaxy S4.

I have tried three of these. The first one lasted a month before it would no longer connect to my Galaxy S4. The second one last one day and the third, one half day. While the first unit was working I thought the gadget was fantastic. When it failed and I went through another 2, I lost all of my enthusiasm. Serious work still needs to be done on ironing out the reasons for eventually failing to connect. I might add when the connection failed, it meant failure on all of my devices i.e. they would not connect to any device at all. My advice - DON'T BUY!

I bought this last year and have been for the most part very satisfied.
I am unable to compare to other FM transmitters as this was the first I owned.
Pairing to this device was very easy. So easy infact that until i sussed out how to restrict it to my device, me and a few friends were regularly performing tug of wars to play our music instead of my mates crap.
The range of the transmitter was very satisfactory as i could receive the signal from the dongle in my living room when my car was parked outside on the lawn about 5-10 meters away. The bluetooth range was excellent too i could easily play music from my phone to the car stereo via the dongle when i was stood 15-20 meters away. Both these ranges are irrelevant for a device that is supposed to be used no more than 2 meters away but I was none the less impressed.
The audio quality was satisfactory. As i said i have no experience with other dongles to make a comparison but i would say that the quality was comparable to a regular radio station.
Volume, comparing it again to regular radio station I would say the volume was a little low, even though there are three volume settings in the app, I still found that I needed to turn the stereo volume up to achieve a comparable actual volume.
As a charger it was very good. It will fast charge faster than other actual chargers I've used in the past.
I am not sure if this is a positive or a negative, but after about a year of daily use for about 8-11 hours a day it has now developed a fault. It still charges fine but after a short period of use the signal will drop out for a couple of seconds and then continue, this pattern will occur more and more frequently until it finally cuts out for good.
