Kavanagh is credited as the editor for this book, compiling the wise words of twelve members of the Religious Society of Friends or Quakers, as they are more commonly known, into a revealing and enlightening book. New Light illuminates the spiritual philosophy of this 350-year-old Christian society with a modern feel. From reading this book it becomes very apparent that the Quaker movement is perhaps the truest embodiment of Christianity as promoted by Christ's earliest followers. The Quaker approach to Christianity is one of spiritual growth and of a personal relationship with God. In some respects it is very similar to the Gnostic approach to Christianity. This is an interesting and relevant book that has much to offer the seeker of spiritual knowledge. -- High Spirit magazine
