What a wonderful book. I think this is the best book around on goldwork. Not only does it clearly show you the traditional techniques of working goldwork, but it goes much further in showing you how to use these techniques to produce original and innovative pieces of work. There is a very clear section on materials and threads. As a City and Guilds student, I know I am going to find this book invaluable and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone wishing to produce both traditional and creative goldwork. It has given me a wealth of ideas.

A brilliant book. I'm a C&G Embroidery Diploma student but hadn't done any goldwork before. This book shows traditional and new creative techniques clearly with pictures and text. Also lovely inspiring pictures of completed pieces and an excellent reference tool.

I have just ventured into goldwork, I didnt think I would like it, but went to a class, and love it !! we were able to see a copy of "new ideas in Goldwork " so I got myself a copy. and I am very pleased with it, it has some lighter, modern ideas, and explains the various threads, of which there are many ! its a good buy, enjoy !
