About the Author
Ronda Armitage trained as a primary school teacher but has been writing children's books for nearly thirty years. She is best known for the Lighthouse Keeper series, illustrated by her husband David Armitage. Originally from New Zealand, Ronda now lives in East Sussex.
Holly Swain is best known for Wanted! Have You Seen this Alligator?, which won the Stockport Book Award. This is her second book for Puffin, following There's No Such Thing as a Ghostie, written by Cressida Cowell. Holly lives in Brighton, Sussex.

An excellent well written book for all children aged 3 - 7 years. I have used it with foundation and KS1 children and there is a lot of drama and writing that comes from it. It even led to our class assembly been based on it. Equally it is an fantastic book to share one to one at bedtime with your child.

This is an excellent book: the language is up to Ronda Armitage's usual high standard and the illustrations are bright and clear. My class of 5-7 year olds loved it. They particularly enjoyed the repetitive language and the traditional pirates' phrases. It was interesting for them to have a story written by Ronda and not illustrated by David!
