I was very disappointed with this as I bought it for home use and had hoped that it would contain a brief explanation of each topic with 'how to' example(s) then some trial questions. It's a nice colourful book but seems designed for class use following the teacher's explanation - I wouldn't choose again to buy this book as a parent but would instead make sure that what I was buying had the explanations in. Unless you have a child who revels in answering question after question (without answers - that's a separate book!), I'm sorry but I wouldn't buy this book. If explanations & answers were added it would then be a complete book, but sadly it isn't. Maths methodology have changed since parents' schooldays so I think parents do need to know the current 'how to' in order to use this book at home effectively. Even having attended a couple of parents' courses on supporting children with their maths I'd still say this book isn't enough - I would rather go for one of the thin (& much cheaper) revision books, as they clearly explain each topic.
