As an English teacher to non-English speakers, I am familiar with this range of courses and find them very interesting and easy to follow. So, I ordered this book for one of my students, rather than use copies. Looking back on my order, I see that it is for only a section of the course. There should be 7 units in this course and this book only has 4 units. This was not made clear when I bought it so watch out!
The workbook is at the back of the student book so this should make life a little easier only having one book but this does make the grammar and other sections much more difficult to find.

I would like to point out that none of the 21 reviews written up til now for this book are actually related to this book. They all appear to be related to books of other levels in the same series, which makes a considerable difference. I would really like to read reviews about the content and level of this Advanced book not the pencil markings in a book bought by some unfortunate person who bought the Elementary book from the same series. I'm not sure why Amazon mixes reviews like this. It's not very helpful. Apart from that the 'look inside' feature appears to be from an elementary level book as well.

This series with all of it's resource materials is the best out there as far as I (with my 17 years of English teaching experience) can see. It is well-designed and you can just feel that it's been thoroughly tested in action. The speed of the course is just fine as long as the students had the appropriate level to begin with (not too low). The workbook is excellent homework material for students. If the students have the appropriate level, if they study and actually attend your classes and if they are punctual, they can keep up with the classes just fine. As always the onus is on the students to actually do their homework.
The down side to this workbook plus "multirom" is that when you receive it, you may not actually know how to make it work. It's supposed to work in your cd player as a cd and in your computer as a pc-program, but mine didn't in both Windows Vista and XP and I'm an advanced user. If you have a problem and you need assistance from their technical support department, good luck. I've called every support number available and every single one of them passed the buck through to some answering machine. Their post-purchase service is hell.

MultiRom on Macs
As with other OUP EFL books, Solutions is an excellent book. However, their MultiRom only works with Mac OS up to 10.6. There is no support for 10. Read more

Shouldn't be selling items that are unusable....
Although the book I bought was not described as being in perfect condition, I do believe that if a book such as this has had the answers written throughout it should not be resold. Read more
