4.0 out of 5 stars Bonoman and Wyclef are not your everyday pop stars.......... 3 Nov 1999
By Neil Barber (smnbarber@cs.com) - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
They are sooo much more. They can sing. They can write music. They can play instruments. But more than that, these powerhouses of music use these talents to relate messages to the human soul whose surface is generally not scratched by the typical pop/rock/rap artist. Whether you are a Wireling, a Gen Xer, Gen Yer, or Baby Boomer, you can - and more importantly should - enjoy and appreciate this song and its collaborators. It is disappointing that radio and MTV are not more responsive to this type of music for the soul, but we can give it our vote by purchasing a copy for ourselves and everyone we know. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars teach 'em how to sing Bono....teach 'em 30 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
this song is just so uplifting. in excellent blend of rap and pop. Bono's voice shines through, since he hasn't been seen since 'the sweetest thing'. and Wyclef has got the perfect story telling of being out in the streets and wars. once again...it's so uplifting, very optimistic and lovely. it's gotta be the best duet of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Single of the Year!!!! 17 Sep 1999
By Whmcrock - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The best song of the year by two of the greatest living songwriters. Wyclef Jean is an extremely underrated performer compared to Lauryn Hill. Buy it to help charity and for the song, uplifting and beautiful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bono's gifted voice brings a bouncy pop song to life. 16 Sep 1999
By Amjad Mahmood Khan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
For die-hard U2 fans out there, the mere fact that Bono would team-up with a rap artist may seem disconcerting. However, once your hear the bouncy new single by Wyclef Jean and Bono, you will be pleased by the effort. The song begins in a childish melody, with Wyclef's basic lyrics prevailing. However, the moment he turns the song over to Bono, you hear a beautiful voice that has so captivated audiences for decades. After 20 years and numerous albums, Bono still has the most soul-searching, penetrating, and controlled voice of any pop artist. Fans will be delighted to know that Bono sings a great deal in this song with the same kind of emotional fervor as his last release with U2, "The Sweetest Thing." No doubt, the song probably won't be a top hit by any stretch of the imagination, but any effort by Bono deserves your audience. It's a kind of "U2 meets the Fugees" effort--a feel-good song for charity that's worth the few bucks.

3.0 out of 5 stars bono contribution to this cd is spectacular! 4 Dec 1999
By gustavo castro - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
i liked very much the first song on this cd, the second one is awful; i would have rated this cd whit 5 stars if it had a version of new day performed by u2, with bono and wyclef singing and the rest of the band playing instruments.
