Bought this boat for my 6 year old son following reviews. Looked good and son was pleased. First trip to local boating pond ended in disaster. Fifteen minutes in, the boat stopped and we could not get it back to shore. Then, to my sons horror, the boat began to sink. It was 10 foot out so I rolled up my jeans and attempted to wade in to get it...water too high. Emergency call to wife to bring swim shorts, towel and dry clothes. Swim shorts on, I am now waist deep in freezing cold water (air temperature 6 degrees!), boat retrieved and brought to shore. Son very upset, me very cold and wet. It has been a week and the boat has dried but no longer works. Cannot work out if this is due to sinking incident or something else that made it stop in the first place. Boat now renamed Titanic owing to maiden voyage disaster.
This seems to be a one off and son is still keen on RC boats despite trauma!
