5.0 out of 5 stars Rosemary's Inspiration, 3 May 2009
This review is from: New Body Plan (Paperback)
I can recommend this book and way of healthy eating to anyone who has tried everything else. It is simple to follow, lots of choice and even if you are not a cook, there are plenty of simple but tasty meals to make and especially if you have a busy life or eat on the go. The breakfasts are simple and varied from cereal to cooked, lots of lunch choices and evening meals which could be shared with the family. There are even puddings and treats. The programme still requires willpower and exercise but it is so manageable it is inspiring. Some of the products may not be available any longer as this was originally published a few years ago but you can easily work around it as there are so many choices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but dated, 14 May 2011
This review is from: New Body Plan (Kindle Edition)
I lost a lot of weight on Rosemary's Hip & Thigh diet 10 years ago and decided to return to one of her plans to loose some weight I gained recently. There's no doubt her principles work, whichever one of her plans you go for.

My disappointment with this book/plan is that it is so dated. Rosemary always had a tendency to be a bit stuck in the 70s and 80s and this is particularly obvious in this diet plan. The recipes such as Beef & Orange Curry or Grapefruit Wobble are just too old fashioned for my tastes. Having looked at her more recent books, they don't seem much better. She needs to team up with a sensible chef such as Nigel Slater and come up with some more innovative, modern meal ideas to keep dieters interested.

My one other small point is that many of the ready meal suggestions she makes [for lunchtime sandwiches etc] no longer exist. It is possible to work out what else there is that fits into her 'less than 4% fat rule' - but if this book is still available to buy at full price [as it is] then she should keep it up-to-date and relevant.

I have lost approx 2lbs a week on this plan and it's easy to follow. I do feel hungry sometimes [but I wouldn't be dieting if I didn't overeat, so I'm bound to] and I do get bored with the food options - but the plan sets down some good basic principles and once I reach my target weight, I will follow her guidelines to stay slim.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD BOOK, 29 Jan 2010
By
Mrs. April Cunningham "april1152" (west midlands) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: New Body Plan (Paperback)
I brought this book a while ago, and have never done anything with it as I am an avid original Hip and Thigh dieter. Having lent my books to a friend, I have decided to have a look at this book. After reading it, I am somewhat finding it quite similar to her new book - but there are more recipes and of course no colorie counting. I am hoping that this works as well as her original Hip and Thigh.
