5.0 out of 5 stars The best things come in small packages!, 13 April 2007
By K. Cradock (UK) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Apple iPod nano 2GB Silver (Electronics)
To start with, I was shocked at how small the box that it came in was! And then how small the ipod was itself! It's amazing! As soon as it arrived I got it out the box and started charging it and putting all my songs on it. There was no faffing about at all and each song took probably less than an second to be put on the nano - it's speed definately impressed me as I used to use sonicstage with my minidisc player and it took forever! itunes is a very uncomplicated programme and is so easy to use. The only downside to the nano is the lack of mains charger but they are quite cheaply and readily available.
Overall, I love my ipod nano. If you are thinking about upgrading from your old mp3 player/minidisc/whatever it is definately worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Silver Star, 25 April 2007
By Mrs. C. L. Elgerton (UK) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Apple iPod nano 2GB Silver (Electronics)
I've had other mp3 players before but always wanted an I pod and finally bit the bullet and brougt one and can honestly say I'm not disappointed. Its easy to use and upload songs to i've got to the point where i have loads of memory left and no more songs to upload. The games on there are good to get you through board times as well as your favourite tunes. The only down side is it doesn't come with a mains charger but can be picked up cheaply to save keep turning your computer on.

It's sleek and lightweight design is great for the gym. I also brought a case for mine to protect the screen but there are loads of accessories out there to personalise it, and an added bonus is I can buy dock speakers for it so me and my husband can listen to our favourite songs while on holiday. Great sound quality just have to be careful nnot to sing out loud

all in all a little silver star

4.0 out of 5 stars Nano goes on a diet..., 24 Sep 2006
This review is from: Apple iPod nano 2GB Silver (Electronics)
So, another day, another iPod. Is there really any need?

It seems the answer is yes. Apple have updated their whole range of iPods in order to bring some festive cheer to the company shareholders. What we have here is not really a huge revamp but more a tweak. Each Ipod (Shuffle, Nano and Video) have had little bits and bobs added to their already highly-praised specification.

And here we have the new Nano 2gb in silver. On paper there isn't much difference to the main features (2gb/500 song capacity, ability to view photos, click wheel) but cosmetically the design has changed a fair bit. It harks back to the iPod Mini but still keeps that sleek profile that was loved by the original Nano. And yes! This time it's even thinner!

One improvement is the new battery life- 24 hours. That's a new high for the iPods and brings them up to score with other portable music players like the Sony Walkmans. Another improvement is the brightness of the screen- it's apparantly 60% brighter but I can't really tell. I would say that the graphics on screen look a lot cleaner and smoothed out than they were on the old Nanos.

A search option tops off the list of features new to the Nano. Nothing else has really changed. Sound quality is still excellent, no radio, no microphone, no input jack. But if these things don't matter then the Nano is still THE most stylish mp3 player on the market.

Also note that the box is tiny. Really, I mean it. It's so small that the software doesn't come with the iPod. This I feel is a bit of a stupid move by Apple- cutting out neccesities just so something as trivial as a presentation box is as tiny as possible. If you have dial-up or an unreliable net connection then you'll have to source the software from elsewhere.

Overall a fine example of Apple's ability to combine something functional with style.

It'll sell by the bucketloads.
