Director Peter Hall takes Antonio Banderas' acting skills seriously as the wild and beautiful Tony Ramirez in this tale of two people trying to build a relationship of trust despite concealment and mutual suspicion. Rebecca de Mornay, playing psychologist Sarah Taylor, gives a convincing performance as a woman whose childhood left her a legacy of pain. The narrative unfolds slowly, and the complicated denoument is rather contrived, but there are some tender and moving scenes. The film is visually interestins, paticularly in the depiction of Ramirez' apartment, in which the use of wire mesh walls suggests the psychological prison from which the two lovers struggle to escape. The film deserves attentive viewing, and is better the second time round.

Sizzling Chemistry 18 Oct 2004
Format:DVD
This movie stands out because the two main lead characters have such a sizzling sexual chemistry. This seems to make up for some of the dodgy dialogue. However the storyline is great, you will never guess the ending in a million years, it really keeps you watching and glued to the seat - what a plot twist!!

Most of this film is about the 2 leads, Rebecca DeMornay and Antonio Banderas. She is a criminal psychologist chatted up and bedded by Banderas (what else?)in record time and he a mysterious unknown who enters her life after a recent split. She becomes victim to a stranger who sends her "gifts" but you know there is going to be more to this than meets the eye,
