Even I'm a bit sick of the trials and tribulations of "kate's junkie lover", and i love the guy. When he puts down his pipe.
But anyway, I'm really glad that John Hassal's managed to write and record something this good and essentially different, for while i miss his previous band, i don't listen to their albums on repeat (any more) and i don't want a second rate substitute, so this more coral-esque single is really welcome. Not The Coral when they're weird, but when they're good. His voice is also refreshingly different, and doesn't sound like it comes from his face. Ah well. Moral is, it's really good.
ps As much as i love amazon, £3.99 for singles?

As the unfortunate story of The Libertines/Babyshambles/Peter Doherty continues to be played out in the tabloids, the former Libertine and co have provided a welcome break. "Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder" is musically similar to The Byrds, with a cheerful lyrical content enough to brighten the gloomiest of days. The b-sides however aren't much, with "Working For The Industry" sounding very forced. Yeti though show enough here they can make a future of their own.
