Product Description

CD Description

Husband and wife team who have both enjoyed previous success in their own right as well as together. Stacey's endearingly evocative style was first heard in 1990 in duet with her older brother, country renegade Steve Earle. Her solo success began eight years later. Mark had worked with Steve Earle, Jonell Mosser and Freddy Fender before his solo debut in 1999. NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO is their second album in tandem, built around the duo's obvious chemistry together. Sharing vocals and song-writing credits, Stacey also plays acoustic guitar while Mark plays electric and acoustic guitars and piano. They are joined by Mike Webb (piano, organ, mandolin), Byron House (acoustic and electric bass) and Craig Wright (drums, percussion).

Sweet Gearle 12 Sep 2003
Format:Audio CD
Having seen Stacey perform with her brother back in 1990 and several times with Mark Stuart, a new realease is always welcome !

The second CD gives a taste of the songs as you will hear them live. The main CD on the other hand lets you hear them the way Mark and Stacey want them to be heard.

If you enjoyed the first two records you will love this. A little more polished production but retaining the "home style" song about real life !

Can't wait till this gearle and bhoy get back over to Bonny Scotland.

give her a chance 15 Nov 2007
By J. Hicks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The girly voice thing sometimes plagues old Nanci Griffith work as well, but both artists have a lot more to say than their voices suggest. I highly suggest you find whatever local coffeehouse or intimate setting is featuring Stacy Earle. Their set was one of the most unusual, intimate, and intense experiences you may have. Stacy invited the audience to come around the corner to the piano, and stand with her while she sang "The Note." She thanks her audience with hugs. She's in your face when she sings about almost losing her son in an accident. Then listening to her album will make sense, girly voice and all.

Grows 2 Oct 2006
By Bob Woodturn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Didn't like this at first due to "girly" voice on some tracks, and it was in my overflow/dispose of rack, but recently heard a track off it on the radio (Bob Harris - BBC Radio 2) and decided to revisit. That annoying "girly" voice is still there on some tracks but there is also some good songwriting and musicianship here, Mark Stuart sounds like a young Buddy Miller, so maybe I won't throw it out after all. It's growing on me....
