With thoughts of the film career and his upcoming Army stint, one could assume that '58 would be a flat year for Elvis musically, but this can be totally disapproved by purchase of this collection (or the superiour and fantistically titled "50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong").

January: King Creole was never a great song, and the altneriatve takes were thankfully set asside for the superiour take eventually used. The sweet piano only version "As Long As I have You" is a really nice song, well sang,. Also hearing Kitty's full intro to the classy "Crawfish" is electrifying, and it's nice to hear "Danny" in its rightful place.

It's fun as well hearing his mock army talk, and cock-ups and general good humour, not only did this session produce great music but also seemed real fun.... Read more ›
