Praise for the books of William Casey Moreton:

"...Moreton keeps readers hooked." -- Kirkus Reviews

"....Moreton is a superb and inspired storyteller and with so many mediocre books being published, this is a relatively rare feat." -- Deadly Pleasures

For fans of Lee Child, Robert Crais, and Harlan Coben, here is white-knuckle suspense at its finest:

John Coburn, a Harvard-trained doctor still reeling from his father's sudden death a few days earlier, wanders into a bar in New York City's Greenwich Village a few minutes before midnight. He encounters an old friend from college, a man named Brian Ripley, whom he hasn't seen in nearly 20 years. Ripley is with a beautiful young woman and is clearly in a hurry to leave. Coburn could have never been prepared for Ripley's reaction to seeing him, and he is even less prepared for what happens next.

The following morning, the young woman with Ripley is found dead in Washington Square Park, the victim of a brutal murder. Coburn goes to the police and tells them of his encounter with Ripley the previous night. What the police tell him shakes him to his core - Brian Ripley has been dead for 15 years.

The story moves at breakneck speed as John Coburn searches for the truth behind the woman's murder and whether or not he really saw his friend, or merely a ghost, that night.

WILLIAM CASEY MORETON grew up in the South and graduated college in 1993 with a degree in Religious Studies. He is the author of seven novels, including THE STRANGER BESIDE YOU, THE SEARCH, and 72 HOURS. Moreton is a member of International Thriller Writers, and lives with his wife and children in the Midwest where he is at work on his next book.

Implausible but good 7 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The author scores very high on the Implausability Scale but lean back, go with the flow and enjoy the ride. Implausable it may be but the guy can write a thriller. Shame about the end as the book just stops dead with all the loose ends dangling. Shame.

The Suspense Never Backed Down! 13 Mar 2012
By Bkworm Bren - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was full of non-stop action and very few (if any) dull moments! I really liked Dr. John Coburn ---- how could I not like a handsome doctor who travels the world doing humanitarian work??!! Being at the wrong place at the wrong time and seeing the wrong person has John running for his life. There are some bad guys and tough cops, but the author doesn't feel the need to prove their "badness" by dropping the F-bomb 29 time in a sentence! I appreciated the fact that the book didn't contain the usual gratuitous sex and language (although there is plenty of violence). I usually don't stop reading a book because of bad language, but sometime I feel it is overdone (especially in a thriller)and that was not the case here! I highly recommend this book----it was a very enjoyable read!

Enjoyable, for the price 24 May 2011
By Brian M. Clapper - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I certainly can't complain about the price, and the book was certainly enjoyable, if a little predictable in spots.

It needs a good proofreading, though. There are inconsistencies in the details (e.g., a character referred to as a "grandson" in one paragraph, and a "son" two paragraphs later), repeated sentences (where one of them was clearly intended to be removed), inconsistent Kindle formatting, and various misspellings and typographical errors. While these niggling issues don't affect the story, they are repeatedly jarring, like reading a blog the author didn't bother to proofread.

That said, the book was a fun read, and I'd certainly be willing to try other books by this author.

Distracted by Editing Errors 2 Sep 2011
By Susan Jarrell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Whoever prepared this Kindle edition did NOT do any editing. I was distracted by the sheer number of typos, repeated phrases, and things a first-year editor should have caught. The story was interesting, but my enjoyment of it was lessened because of the sloppy editing.
