I have been motivated and inspired by the good works presented in this book especially the diversity that Betty Makoni also helped other nationalities. To those interested in areas such as child poverty, child abuse, HIV, polygamy, cultural values including religion this book is the right place to be.
The book has taught me how to empower young girls and women and I can see myself getting closer to my destination of helping others. The stories mentioned in the book increased my passion in helping as well as referring them to the right places. The most fundamental point is that we are not alone in terms of supporting vulnerable people in our society.
I was moved by the experience that Betty Makoni went through during childhood and the fact that I also share some of the same challenges with her. Betty Makoni sacrifices her private life in order to achieve a common goal and she is not scared to tell the truth. It's my first time to learn about dignified buggers in the donor world. I have also learnt about how the system works in Zimbabwe together with the policies and legislations.
The author narrated her own life experience in such a way that even in the next generations to come people can go and look for answers. I encourage people to learn the principles of life in this book. What a great honour to Betty Makoni.

Amazing woman and book 26 Sep 2012

Betty Makoni is a very inspirational woman who writes not just about other women s' experiences, but her own that match the others. You will be emitting many "wow" and "OMG" remarks in reading this book. It speaks to the true condition of women in Zimbabwe and the need for change. Ms. Makoni is of international stature in terms of awards and notoriety. Her organization Girl Child Network does many things, just one of which is finding homes for girls who have been abused, raped, beaten etc. Please read this book and ask how you can help. I had the honor to meet Ms Makoni in London, as well as a key leader of her organization in Harare. They are passionate, extremely savvy, and motivational.
