Neurology is one of those subjects that make most students want to curl up and hide away - it is vast and complex with difficult terminology. This book is a goldmine! It logically breaks down each of the systems, neurological tracts and functions for a brief introduction/refresher of neuroanatomy and physiology. Then it takes the major neurological conditions, grouping them together logically and clearly explains cause, symptoms, signs, differential diagnoses, dangers, investigations and treatment. Although it is quite a thin tome (which I find refreshing) it manages to concisely convey all the necessary information. The layout of each sections is very clever, usually confining the subject to a double page spread, with quick reference boxes and excellent key point summaries at the end of each section. The section on strokes is particularly good. The illustrations are very clear with excellent diagrams, well placed radiological images and photographs or sketches of signs or stigmata of neurological disease. Very handy for those who find revision an almighty chore and who need a format that allows you to pick it up and put it down at a whim without forgetting everything. Also excellent choice for a last minute scan before the exam!
From using this book I have invested in many more in this fantastic series!
