Before purchasing this item I decided to watch it on Sky Arts TV. In the first hour of Verdi recitals there were 7 x 5 minute breaks for ads. Any sense of continuity were lost. Given that this was scheduled for 2 hours 35 minutes on tv I would suggest the concert only lasted half of the allotted time - the ads just kept coming. So my exercise was ruined by an extremely poor effort by Sky. Actually, it was appalling. That first hour was not very dynamic. Throw in the chorale parts for Nabucco and Il Travatore and it all was an unconnected mish-mash. This was Dmitri Hvorostovsky's first major concert. He seemed to blossom ( although his attire left cause for concern ) as the evening went on. Netrebko has lost something. Given I have watched this, not in its entirety, on Sky first, I am not persuaded to purchase until I can see it in full.
