Having moved home and wanted to make my wife's desktop computer wireless I found this Netgear adaptor ideal. It was easy to install and the stand it comes with enables the device to be positioned on top of the pc. Good value for money and well designed.

I'm sure this is an excellent wireless dongle, but I just cannot get it to work on Windows 7 64 bit. I spent hours on the phone with Netgear, installing and reinstalling, uninstalling antivirus and firewall etc etc only to be told that it doesn't work with Windows 7/Vista 64 bit where your RAM is greater than 4GB (mine is 4GB).

Netgear instead recommend NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter WNDA3100 - Network adapter - Hi-Speed USB - 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n (draft 2.0), which, at more than twice the price, ought to work. Sadly the reviews tell a different story.

Final point, my first one of these was refurbished. Be warned that if you buy a refurb, the product will come with the serial number blacked out, whereupon Netgear will refuse to provide you with any telephone tech support. Which wasted another week of my life...

Hands down the best single thing I've ever bought.

I've had a huge amount of hassle with usb wireless dongles (Belkin) in the past so was very wary about buying this, especially after reading of lots of problems with Windows 7 64 bit and usb wireless adapters on the net. This installed in seconds. I simply followed the instructions for 'install driver only' on the enclosed CD (how good is that?! a company that actually treats you like an adult rather than forcing you to clag up your computer with useless, unnecessary bloatware!?) and was online before I knew what was happening with speeds and signal strength I've never seen before.

Everything about the package and install process reeked of professionalism.

Dead good dongle
Pleased with this. Replaced an aging rangemax dongle that kept dropping out with this one. Easy to set up and much faster. I like the cradle idea - looks good and works well.
