I used this to extend Wi-Fi for my Virgin Media Superhub. Set up was surprisingly easy, 10 minutes after opening the box I had it working.

For anyone else with a Virgin Media Superhub, here's what I did:
* Plug in the extender between your Superhub and the part of the house where you want to extend the WiFi signal to.
* Press the button on the extender labelled WPS.
* Walk to your Virgin Superhub. The lit up Virgin logo, that's actually a button. Press it.
* Walk to the part of the house you wanted to extend Wi-Fi signal to.
* Connect computers and devices in that area to the new Wi-Fi connection called: [your usual Wi-Fi connection]_2EXT

Simple to set up.

Very very pleased with this. I have patchy wifi from the router at the front of my house and tried to solve this a a few different ways over the years including power line adapters (decent but picks up a lot of interference, in my experience) and setting another router up as a repeater (way too complex) so went for the WN3500RP expecting more grief but was very pleasantly surprised.

Set up took a couple of minutes - I first tried to set up at the limits of my current wifi range and it didnt connect. I then did it in the same room, got them paired (pressed one button on each device) and then moved it back to another room (connected straight away).

Every now and again the signal will drop but is back within 30 seconds or so without having to walk into the other room, reboot etc.
Seemingly other reviewers here do need to reboot regularly but 5 days in and no problems

I debated getting the substantially cheaper 3000 model but went for the 3500 for two reasons - (a) it can be located higher up than the plug socket (on a desk say) so easier to reboot *if* you need to - like i say, I've been okay so far, and (b) the marginal benefit of the 2.4 and 5 ghz options - basically 2.4 is a wider spread signal so more likely to get through/around walls etc. but is slower than 5ghz, which is quicker but more easily blocked. As it happens, it has automatically set up both to run at the same time, so I can use 5 when it's there and flip over to 2.4 if any issues. Sweet

Overall I am delighted with this simple, non-intrusive, non-techy solution that does exactly what I need

I have one of these in use with a BT router at another property and it works fine. I bought another one to use with a Netgear TalkTalk router and it doesn't work properly at all.
Once connected it takes over the TalkTalk router and changes the settings such that nothing else can connect.
It randomly allows and then denies access to devices - my laptop can access the extender, my girlfriend's can't, etc.
If I connect my Sonos system direct to the TalkTalk router it all works perfectly, if I connect it through the extender it wont connect all the parts of the system, just some of them.
I've wasted a day trying to get the thing to work (and I'm not stupid with these things) and I've worked out that it simply doesn't work properly with this router.
Avoid.

This has worked out as good solution to a lack of wireless covearge in one part of my house. The positioning of the range extender is crucial to getting the best out of this device - it is not a cure all. The device works best when it has a good signal from the wireles router you are trying to extend from so you still may enounter issues if you are trying to get a signal through any stone or brick walls. In my case the problem was two brick walls in an L shape and I solved this not by putting the repeater directly in line between the router and where I wanted the signal but by off setting it getting the signal around the wall rather than through it.

Bought this as built an extension at my home and wanted to cover the new building.. Works so well and using the WPS function was so simple to set up.. Was up and running in less than 4 mins and from taking it out of the box and taking a glance over the quick setup guide. (2 minute read 1 minute to pair each band, simple)

Was immediately out streaming video over to my tablet with no issues.

Good product and so far highly recommend. There are cheaper alternatives but pleased I picked this Wifi extender.

It does the job - it's a good WiFi extender and does everything you could want it to. The only downside is it takes two minutes to turn off and connect; as it gets very hot, I recommend turning it off when it is not in use and put it somewhere where it will stay cool. A definite buy despite it's downside.

My previous Netgear WiFi extender was a good product and lasted a reasonable amount of time then just gave up . On looking at reviews of all extenders on Amazon there was no real outstanding other product as all of them including this had some negative reviews . Set it up by router so could do WPS easily then put it where I wanted it . It did take time to settle down and work at 100% in my opinion but now running the signal about 30 metres to outside building with no problems . Would have given it five stars but find that the 5ghz signal does not really work though I have a dual broadband router . I just use ordinary 2.4 but it could be because of the distance between router and extender that 5ghz does not work so it may just be my setup .
