1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy - Deletes XP Accounts, 16 Jun 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Netgear WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter Network Card (Personal Computers)
I installed the software and the adapter - very easy and it worked. However, when I went to switch off my PC, the old classic menu came up instead of the XP pictures for shut down / restart.
I switched off then when I rebooted my PC the accounts had gone and I could only log into the last account I was in.
Seems the software installs an rtlgina2.dll file, which messes up XP.
Netgear know about this problem but won't fix it.
On one PC I just uninstalled the software and removed their device. Unfortunately on the other I deleted the rtlgina2.dll file and couldn't get back into XP. I'm now having to spend hours reinstalling XP and all the programs.
I definately won't recommend this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid like the plague - do not buy!, 27 Nov 2007
This review is from: Netgear WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter Network Card (Personal Computers)
As stated elsewhere this completely cocks up your computer. Having installed the software I switched off. On logging on again I was presented with an log in box asking for a passord - what password? Nothing would work.. in the end I left the box empty and pressed return. Amazingly I got back into xp and was able to get online and download and run a fix that worked - thank God. The idiots at Netgear were unable to help, saying it was something I'd done - which it wasn't. I feel like sueing them - what a bleeding cheek - they know this happens from what I've read and have they done anything about it? - NO.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work for me, 10 Oct 2007
This review is from: Netgear WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter Network Card (Personal Computers)
Having had trouble with a Belkin adaptor, I bought this as a replacement. But, when I plug it in, Windows says it's an unknown device. So that's that. Wish I hadn't got it while on holiday.
