Netgear DGN2000 Wireless-N Router is a great upgrade from the old G series Netgear I used to have. I have worked in IT for around 9 years and we recommend Netgear Routers as they are reliable and easy to configure, this router has only strengthened my belief that Netgear are the best home router manufacturers out there! Where I used to get 1 bar signal strength with my old DG834G I now get full strength (Excellent). I was going to hardwire my house next time I did anything under the floor but this changed everything. A great bit of kit, buy one!

I bought this to replace a Belkin ADSL2+ ROUTER W/MODEM * N1 VISION which proved unreliable and didn't allow assignation of fixed IP addresses and am well pleased with the decision to go back to Netgear.

It copes well with my rather complicated network - I live in a big old house with thick walls; as well as the wired and wireless n network, there's a powerline element using a Netgear WGXB102 54 Mbps Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender Kit and a Netgear XE104 85 Mbps Wall-Plugged Ethernet 4-port Switch, a gigabit switch, Slingbox Classic (UK), Windows Home Server box, Media Centre Vista 32 PC on the powerline, several Vista 32 laptops and two desktops, one running Vista 64 and an XP veteran connected to the router; there are also two network printers, a HP Color Laserjet 2600n *No Toners* on the powerline and a HP c8100 on the wireless.

Assigning fixed IP addresses where necessary was straightforward, and no reboots have been required in the month I've owned it.

My only minor niggle is that I have to reconnect occasionally to the network with one of the laptops near the edge of the coverage area.

Got this recently to go with a Netgear WN311T PCI wireless adapter for my desktop. Although this modem router is a couple of rooms away from where my PC is set up, the signal strength is at maximum and the throughput is blazing at 270Mbps! My wife's notebook also gets a good to excellent signal wherever she is in the house. This is a definite improvement over my previous modem router (Netgear DN834PN), which only sent a fair signal to the notebook in most areas of the house.

Setup was easy, although the desktop (running on Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate) initially had difficulty being wirelessly assigned a valid IP address to connect to the Internet. No problems re-connecting thereafter, though.
