Product Description
You are looking at Netgear DG634G v.3 ADSL Modem Router & Switch. Netgear are probably the best (and most expensive) of the home network products brands. This particular model is the latest of the DG834G models, so the firmware and usability is greatly improved from the previous models.

Bought his router a few months ago to upgrade from the standard Kingston Communications router provided with the Karoo Broadband package.
Installation was a piece of a cake on the KC Karoo system, where other products can sometimes prove a bit fickle. It sorted itself out with most of the settings and now provides reliable connection for up to wireless laptops and a hard-wired desktop.

I can remember some time ago having great difficulties in configuring a Belkin Modem Router where the accompanying installation disc was far from clear requiring knowledge in altering certain settings.
You will have no such problems with this Netgear Modem router as the installation wizard on the supplied disc actually scans your computer to find the most suitable settings.
What you must have is a current broadband ethernet connection otherwise the router willnot beable to identifie your current internet settings.
It doesnot matter who is your internet provider this excellent router will configure itself around your computers current settings.
The installation really should not take longer than fifteen minutes because the instructions on the installation disc are so clear and precise that as long as you know your current broadband identification and password the rest is done automatically.
I wish i had known how trouble free the Netgear installation was because i would have bought this stylish Router ages ago.
If you are looking for a superb easy as pie to install Modem router this Netgear DG834G is the one to go for but you must ensure you buy the V3 model as the newer v4 is not quite as straight forward in installing as the almost identical v3 model.
The real bonus is a significant increase in Broadband speed which is certainly noticable when downloading files and Norton Live updates.
There are certainly many different Modem routers out there but this one by Netgear is certainly one of the better ones.

Does the trick for what I need in terms of internet connection. Easy to use and works very well indeed.

A average router
I recieved this router when I upgrade to wireless broadband with Aol. The router is ok but sometimes you have to retune it as it loses internet connection.

Still working after all these years
Owned this since they came out, and still on my first one!! Absolute cracking!! Couldn't be better.
