From the Manufacturer
Thanks to its compact dimensions, the CitiZ coffee machine can easily fit in one of the smallest urban kitchens. Its user-friendly design won the Red Dot Design Award.
Espresso, Lungo and More
The two automatic buttons for espresso and lungo can be reprogrammed to customised volumes and are backlit for ease of use. Thanks to the adaptable and folding drip tray the CitiZ coffee maker is also ideal for taller recipe cups.
High Pressure Pump and Optimal Heat Control System
The 19 bar high-performance pump offers barista-style coffee every time, optimally extracting the delicate flavour and aromas of each coffee capsule and creating an incomparably dense and unctuous crema. The optimal heat control system reaches the ideal temperature in just 25 seconds.
The automatic energy saving function turns the machine off after 9 minutes of inactivity (this duration may be extended from 9 to 30 minutes) making your life easier and consuming 60 per cent less energy than a model rated as (A) according to FEA/CECED labelling.
Each machine includes a welcome set with 16 capsules. Try each Grand Cru to find your favourites.
Nespresso Capsule System
The Nespresso capsule system delivers taste and aromas thanks to the preparation of high-quality coffees in hermetically sealed and recyclable aluminium capsules for coffee enjoyment at the peak level.
The Nespresso Club
The Nespresso Club is always there for you; online, by telephone (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or in one of their Boutiques. Order your Nespresso capsules, receive personalised advice and obtain technical support for your machine: whatever you are seeking, the Nespresso Club is with you every step of the way.
They also offer a capsule recycling service to all Club members in mainland UK and ROI.
The Positive Cup
They believe that each cup of Nespresso has the potential to not only deliver a moment of pleasure but also restore, replenish and revive environmental and human resources. In effect, a cup of coffee that can create a greater value for society and the environment.
This is the Positive Cup vision and continues Nespresso's commitment to sustainability in coffee sourcing and consumption.

As Nespresso staff are only too willing to point out, where there are Krups and Magimix versions of any particular model, the two brands are manufactured to the same functional specification in the same factory. Any differences are purely aesthetic, most commonly spout shape, casing pattern and machine colour.
Mine both happen to be Krups branded.
In terms of the quality and taste of the coffee produced and the time to brew, there is nothing to separate the Citiz and Inissia machines.
The choice of model essentially comes down to size, weight, the size of the water dispenser and used capsule container and, frequently, appearance.
The Citiz is the larger, but quieter of the two machines. It has a larger water container but smaller used capsule container than the Inissia. The Citiz lives on my kitchen counter.
The smaller, lighter Inissia is the one I take to and from work in a shoulder bag.
- On unpacking the machine, follow the setup procedure in the owner's manual (2 minutes)
- Check the calibration of the espresso and lungo shots.Read more ›
From a convenience point of view, it's a quick to make coffee as instant and there's virtually no maintenance apart from flushing once with water (i.e. you press a button) when you're done. The speed of the whole process, together with no need for washing up makes it possible for me to actually have a coffee made and drunk in the morning while feeding a 1 year old.
The quality of the coffee has surpassed my expectations, and I'm pretty picky. The variety of coffees available from Nespresso means you can find several you like (my wife and I each have our favourites, and can have our own choice every time) to match your mood.
It looks great too.
I didn't bother with the version with the milk frother, as I've found a manual Bodum frother works better, costs less than a tenner, and takes less space in the kitchen too.
The only drawback is the need to buy relatively expensive capsules from Nespresso (a touch over 30p a pop after postage), and wait for them to be delivered. Also, if you like a latte, you might need two shots in there, as one is a bit puny for me. They are very professional and quick though, and the convenience more than offsets the price for me.
All in all, I'm so delighted with this machine I've just ordered a second Nespresso machine for work.
The machine itself is quite long and thin, but not overly cumbersome. The water temperature is ready in seconds. I follow their advice and warm the cup by running water through first as I like my coffee steaming hot. Whilst it has automatic dispensing for espresso and larger cups, you can set this to your own levels according to the size of cup you use. I preferred the handle on this to the bar on the Pixie to open/close the capsule chute as the handle feels more solid.Read more ›

I've had a few Nespresso machines to date, some more elaborate with more 'bits and pieces' than others. However, the CitiZ is by far the best yet. Read morePublished 28 days ago by Mary Scott
This is our third Krups Nespresso machine over the years. The water comes out at around 80C which is good, but for long coffees you'd better pre-warm the cup. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Amazon Customer
