The Dolce Gusto Lungo Decaff coffee pods - a stylish cup of full-bodied coffee with a rich aroma and a velvety crema layer.
Literally a 'long coffee', Lungo Decaff is a 'stretched' espresso without all the caffeine. Instead of making a shot, enough hot water to fill a regular coffee cup (but not a mug) is passed through the roast and ground coffee. The result: a rich and smooth coffee that you can take your time over.
From the Manufacturer
Nescafé Dolce Gusto
If you're looking for high quality coffee from a style-conscious and simple to use machine then Nescafé Dolce Gusto is the one for you.
Their machines are designed to not only make tasty coffee but a range of hot and cold drinks, with over 30 varieties to choose from.
What Makes The Pods So Smart?
Inside every pod Nescafé Dolce Gusto uses carefully selected ingredients and then integrate their smart pod technology. Different drinks need different amounts of pump pressure to release their full flavour. For example, an espresso needs high pressure to release that delicious coffee aroma and taste but milk needs less. So the clever little pods are designed to give the correct amount of pressure for whichever drink you choose.

Purchased via the Amazon subscribe and save scheme I pay around 22p a cup for freshly brewed de-caffeinated copy (I get the maximum 15% discount through purchasing 5 items at a time).
So enough of the cost bit, what about the coffee. Well firstly it is decaffeinated and I originally purchased it for those occasions when guests after supper respond to "anyone for coffee" with "got any decaf". Well we do now and I must say I enjoy it too. Personally I dont like decaf too much, even when taken in my favourite coffee shop (Costa) as it is a little thin and I feel lacking flavour. This item is the exception; I find it a pleasant drink and if you were unaware that you were drinking decaffeinated coffee in the first place you probably would not notice and just assume that your host could serve better!!!!!
I drink a cup most evenings around 9:00 and have had no problems sleeping afterwards, particularly if I have read one of my rambling Amazon reviews first :-).
Basically its pretty good and serves for those who want a restful night or can't tolerate caffeine.
This decaf is equally as good as the other regular coffee versions in the Dolce Gusto line. Ive only had instant coffee at home before, and whilst i could happily enough drink some instant coffees, I've always found the decaf variants to be horrible. As a result I stopped drinking decaf altogether before I bought the Nescafe machine. To me this decaf is almost as good as coffee house options. You could quite happily dink this and not feel that you are missing out on taste by even one iota.
Ive noticed that this option is designed for a smaller serving that the other coffee options. Personally though, and as I have the manual machine, I fill the cup up a fair bit, and I find it still tastes great (i'm someone who looks a stronger coffee too and i drink the Grande Intenso during the day). Your own milage may vary, but it's worth experimenting if you have a manual machine.
All in all- a bloody marvellous coffee. Highly recommended!
My only issue is that they are lungo and not americano that don't seem to be available - and are designed for 120ml - rather than a mug
If you put more water in (as I do) they still taste good but you lose some strength
