This gun is awesome, basically its the same as the Nerf Maverick, but instead of using a rotating barrel, you have a quick-load internal clip system wich can hold up to six darts; ive found that the Velcro and Whistler darts work best, Streamline darts DO work, just not as well as the others. The range is the same as a Maverick.

Ive only had one jam since getting this gun and with the jam-door where it is i was able to easily fish out the stuck dart. The jam occured when i was trying to see how fast i could fire it, so take it easy on the trigger and you'll be fine :)

The biggest surprise when i opened the box was how large this gun is, its HUGE! Even with my adult-sized hands it still looks big. It says on the box 8+ but id imagine an 8 year old struggling to hold this in one hand; not only is it big, its also very front-heavy and i find myself using it in two hands quite often.

That said, im still very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to my freinds!

5 STARS! ^_^

My boys love these!! Managed to get them half price on Amazon! Great as a starter Nerf gun & fantastic that you can buy replacement darts. Will definitely buy more of this brand as so easy to load & use! Only downside is... If you buy these for your husband & son to play about with then do not be surprised if you are shot at all day & ambushed whilst cooking Christmas dinner haha!! Don't worry it's a foam dart with a Velcro head so it doesn't hurt!

We have 3 mavericks and they are great the electronic version. The problem with the maverick is the fire all the bullets in quick succession and there's a 30 sec-1 minute reloading amnesty going on. With these beauties they are pump action but loading is a breeze. I have twin boy and girl aged nine and they originally had a problem cocking the gun but after a few practices and realizing the gun wouldn't break on hard reloading the fun began.
You can shoot your entire 6 darts quite quickly and if you are wearing jumpers or such like, the darts will stick to you. but reloading just becomes a breeze and 1 quick reload of a single dart gives you just enough time to fire and grab some more and hide to reload some more.
The only problem with these guns is you need to fitter than ever as the fight is relentless.
On safety side I always get my kids to wear shades or 3D glasses to protect eyes as they can hurt in the eye.
One indoor gaming tip. Close all your toilet lids as fishing them out is no fun. and they don't flush lol

Just to let you know, I use this for HvZ combat on campus. That is, Humans vs. Zombies, a game where Humans complete missions around their local area while zombies, marked with bandanas and such on foreheads, try to hunt them down and 'tag' them. The Humans fight back with nerf guns, foam swords and socks to stun the zombies temporarily while they complete their missions.

I picked this up for a small deal, nothing too expensive, maybe 7 or 8 pounds? So far It's a good deal and I'm happy I bought it.

1. Comes with 6 dart tag shots. These don't fire so far, so your range is somewhat decreased- however, you CAN (and I repeat CAN) use Elite darts (the little blue body and orange tip ones) with this gun, though it is more likely to jam if you do. They do increase the range however, meaning if you have a few around you can keep firing all day with this gun.

2. Pump action firing mechanism. You chamber each round in a built in magazine that juts out the left hand side of the gun, which makes it quite bulky but easier than carrying additional mags. You put in up to 6 rounds (or put one in, cock the gun and then put in another 6 to make 7 shots loaded) and pull back the yellow sliding section at the top of the gun in order to fire. Easy enough, and the benefit of this particular model is you can speedfire- that is, holding the trigger down and repeatedly pushing the priming section back and forth to unleash all your darts quickly. Accuracy suffers a lot, but for up close it's pretty handy.

3. THIS GUN IS MASSIVE. It may not look like much but it's much bigger than any other pistol around- more accurate term for it would be a Hand Cannon.

With it being so cold and wet outside recently, it has been a case of rain stops play.
There's only so many hours you can while away in front of the TV, or convincing yourself that xbox kinect or wii fit actually counts as exercise.
Amazon had a special on Nerf items recently, so I got 2 guns and some refill darts
They stick well to the woolly jumpers my mum knitted us for Xmas, so we use them as targets / scoreboards (while wearing) - extra 20 points if you get santa in the eye, etc.
The darts whistle as you fire them (though only really noticeable over distance, such as up the stairs.)
Good, safe indoor fun for us, the dog got shot accidentally, but he didn't really notice, they bounce off the TV and anything that a tennis ball would destroy.
The guns load up to 6 darts at once, (6 included) and simple to load and un-jam if the darts get a little bent, and fire a good distance throughout our house.
Safe indoor or outdoor play.
