bought this set for my 15 year old son, with the idea that he "played" with it with his 8 year old brother. before we had even had breakfast on christmas day, mum, dad and the two kids had had a shoot out!! great fun ,very easy to use , the 8 year old had no problems loading and shooting. the darts stick well to the vests and also to acrylic jumpers.if you get hit on your body it can sting a little on bare skin, but thats only to be expected and if you read the instructions its not recommended anyway. and the protective eye wear should be worn. only one criticism is that the velcro ends on the darts do peel a bit with use. replacements easy to get hold of and cheap though.everyone who comes to our house ends up having a play with them.not sure what neighbours think when they see me... a 42 yr old, overweight mum of 3 running round with my gun and ready for action!! as always,amazon offered a great price on this item, delivery was swift,even at christmas and the large item was well packaged.

These were our family's first Nerf guns so we can't compare them to others in the range. The guns are very well made and I can imagine them working consistently for many months/years. However you need to make sure that when you load the bullets you push them all the way down the loading slots otherwise the barrel doesn't spin properly and bullets can get broken trying to get them out. The guns fire a good distance for gun battles throughout the house although I'm not sure the range would be good enough for battles in a big garden.
The pump action works really well and is very satisfying. It's a lightweight action by which I mean that it's easy even for my 7 year old boy to use.
We don't use the vests but the protective glasses are very useful. All of us have taken shots to the eyes that would have hurt but for the glasses.
It's probably worth buying some extra bullets as the pack only contains enough for each guns' maximum load so as soon as you lose one you have an empty bullet slot in every battle thereafter. The guns come with orange bullets for the orange gun and green bullets for the green gun. We can't find any green bullets online so be extra careful with them if it bothers you to colour co-ordinate your gun and bullets (it bothers my son! :D )
All in the Nerf guns are a good compromise between the slightly dissapointing laser guns and the overpowered BB guns.

Bought 3 of these for my 11 year old sons party, they all loved it and spent ages playing in the garden, making up various games, like capture the flag etc. Great product and great value.Safe as well. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

great product
i bought this product a year ago for my boyfriend for Christmas and we both love it. we still play with it now and have a lot of fun. it is still intact with the original darts.

Keep your eyes open!
