Really good way of learning Nepali, definitely reccommended. Only disadvantage is that it does go into extensive detail in some areas, which is not that easy for beginners to grasp. Having said that, it does so in a very thorough way...

This is a really good book, introducing you to the Nepali language. It has a good variety of examples to help you to understand everything that you have learned. I would recommend that anyone wishing to purchase this book should have a bit of prior experience learning a previous language - this would help you to understand the sentance structures better. My advise would also be to keep a notebook of important grammar and vocabs to help with quick revision and learning of the language.

I sponser a little girl in nepal and have found this book to be very useful. I can now write to her in her own language instead of having my letters translated. I would reccommend this to anyone who is intrested in Nepali. It is set out both in English and nepali written and speaking in a easy to understand way. Michael Hutt is a very exsperienced trekker in nepal and has written meany books on this subject so you will be getting sound advice. Great book.
