I found this guide excellent during my recent trip to Nepal with Explore.
It has a very interesting hundred-odd pages introducing the country, including History, Culture, Food & Drink, and Outdoor Activities. Then the main sections are: Kathmandu, Around the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu to Pokhara, Pokhara, the Terai (lowlands) and Mahabharat Range, and Trekking. The last covers a few treks such as the famous Everest Base Camp Trek.
While these sections covered everything I did on the trip, and probably everything that 95% of Western visitors do, potential purchasers should be aware that about half of Nepal - i.e. the parts not readily accessible by road - is not even mentioned. This book should really be called "Tourist Nepal" to warn those few who wish to go off the tourist track and therefore need a more specialised guide.
