This book it as a very comprehensive examination of the challenges statecraft faces today in a globalised world. One chapter I particularly liked emphasises the importance of finding ways to reconciling the many conflicting interests and to aim for justice ("just power"), not only because of moral reasons, but because this is in the long-term interest of the state to guarantee his survival. As Dr. Al-Rodhan's other writings, this book builds on insights into human nature he has gained from neuroscience. Even if you are not into security studies, this book is well worth reading.
