Latest hardback edition collecting the newspaper cartoon Nemi.
For the uninitiated [which is probably nobody reading this review but you never know] Nemi is written and drawn by Norwegian cartoonist Lise Myhre, and is best known in this country to readers of the newspaper Metro, who run an english translated edition.
Nemi is a goth. Who has the enthusiasm for life of an eight year old. And who perhaps hasn't quite grown up just yet and possibly never will. Still carrying a torch for Legolas, she and her friend Cyan go through life often getting into situations as a result of the things that Nemi says. Usually the things we'd all love to say in certain situations but don't have the guts to.
This volume has an introduction from punk rocker/artist Gaye advert, and runs for one hundred and twenty seven pages.
In addition to collecting lots of the usual three to four panel daily Nemi cartoons you will also find the occasional full page drawing of Nemi in various fantasy situations, and a few longer and larger strips. These may not be familiar to british readers as they are the kind of cartoons that usually run in sunday papers. Which is why they're bigger. And since metro doesn't have a sunday edition these may be new to you.
But it's another great collection of the most entertaining newspaper cartoon around at the moment, and well worth getting.
