The Only A-Level Biology Text-Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Biology - A Functional Approach Fourth Edition (Paperback)
This book is, for me, the best A-Level Biology Text book. Roberts has been writing Text-books for years both at all levels of education, and each one has proved to be the leader in it's field. The book is clear and concise with good diagrams and is written in an informative, but not condescending manner. All schools should use it!

Roberts - Biology A Functional Approach,
This review is from: Biology - A Functional Approach Fourth Edition (Paperback)
A straight forward no fuss book, that has helped enormously in revision and recollection of the biology classes from 20 years ago!A excellent reference book to help any horticultural or science student catch-up or revise the subject basics.

Biology: A Functional Approach - pure and simple,
By
This review is from: Biology: A Functional Approach (Paperback)
I recall with fondness using the 2nd edition of M.B.V Roberts' "Biology: A Functional Approach" as part of my A-Levels 30 years ago, and bought it recently as a nostalgia trip. I still find the simple, structured and logical approach that it uses a good introduction to the subject. The black-&-white pictures and diagrams are a bit dated but the diagrams still convey clear and precise information. The seven appendices are still good summaries of important data and processes. The index - like the whole book - "functions well".
