Hi, this is my first review, but thought I would let you know that this DVD is well worth buying. The box is a little confusing as to how many sections there are on the DVD - there is a warm up, a cardio section, a stretch and tone section and some extras. Whilst doing the cardio section, there is a "bail out" marker that comes up evry ten minutes, giving you the option to shorten your workout. I love the Nell McAndrew series of workouts, as she is 100% commited to exercise, and is non-commercialised and genuine, unlike some you can buy. It is extremely hard work which can demotivate you a little, but given time the results are much better than most DVD's. I suppose I did prefer Nell's 2nd DVD - Maximum Impact to this latest one, only because it contains a lot more boxing punches, whereas this one is packed full of squats - ouch!
Would recommend you buy.

I've had a gym membership for a few months now and up until I bought this dvd I was dragging myself there 2 or 3 times a week without very encouraging results. I began to panick as my holiday was looming and my bikini was still going nowhere near me so I bought the nell mcandrew ultimate workout and am sooo pleased with it. I've lost over half a stone (from 10stone 7lb to under 10stone) in about a month of doing this dvd 3 times a week.

The dvd is in sections so you can skip to the bits that you want to do. It's a workout you can do in a confined space, great if you've not much room as most of the exercises are on the spot. All the moves are simple, done to a fast paced dance soundtrack that keeps you moving. Although it's simple I havent found it gets boring as the moves are constsntly changing to keep you're concentration up.

The first few times I did the dvd I was knackered after just the warm up but after a few times I found it getting easier. It says on the box that it's suitable for all fitness levels but I've had both my mum and boyfriend try it and niether of them lasted more than 10 minutes into the main section so it's not just me that finds it tough going! The sections are:

* a 10 minute warm up (stretches & lots of squats)

* a main cardio section (about 40 mins, jogging, starjumps etc) This is very strenuous especially at first but there is a "bail out" button that flashes up every few minutes allowing you to cut the section short if you've had enough or are short of time.

* an upper body workout (about 15 mins, walking on the spot whilst doing arm movements (they use weights)) Personally I dont think this section is needed and usually skip it myself as I find that doing all the other sections is more than enough for my upper body....

* a floor work section (about 10 mins, situps, pressups etc) This section targets main problem areas: bum, tum and thighs. It rounds the workout off with some stretches and leaves you feeling like you've worked every muscle in you're body.

All in all it's a very challenging and thorough workout that leaves you feeling delighted with yourself when you've done it.

I bought the other nell mcandrew dvd "peak energy" at the same time. It's well worth having, I alternate between the 2 workouts as although they are very similar the "peak energy" is slighly easier. Plus it's only about £6 and it means you get free shipping for spending over £19 so it's worth considering.

FANTASTIC. This one will make you sweat. The first time I did it I couldn't finish it and I consider myself to be very fit. After a couple of months of doing this 3 times a week my body has changed. My arms, shoulders, back, legs and bum look brilliant in fact I feel brilliant after I've done the workout. This DVD really pushes you and the instructor is great, he gets you going. Nell doesn't say a word - thanks for that Nell, at least you've realised that we just want to do the workout. Great music, women and men with bodies you want to have and with this DVD you can achieve. This is not for beginners but a must have if you want to work hard, sweat, have fun and tone. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I really like this workout for the simple fact that it is good, old-fashioned aerobics without any complicated dance steps (which I am simply too clumsy for) and which does not require very much space, so EVERYONE can practise.

You'll find on here an hour and 20 minutes of aerobics in 3 sections, the second section the longest (about 45 minutes) and containing a LOT of squats, be prepared!! It really hurts, but keep doing them, you will see a difference very quickly.

A number of reviewers wrote that this is not a workout for beginners - I do not agree with this at all, as for the last 8 months I have been leading a very inactive life, no exercise whatsoever, so it was tough doing this workout, and of course, I did not manage to do all of it after the first go, but the best thing is that you see progress very quickly. After just three weeks of using this workout 3 times a week, I was doing section one and the FULL section two - that's over 50 minutes of exercise, whereas my first time with Nell McAndrew was about 20 minutes. Therefore I'd say to beginners that this DVD IS for you, don't be discouraged that you can't do it all the first time you do it. Just keep doing it, and each time you will be able to do an additional 5 or 10 minutes, together with a wonderful sense of achievement.

The instructor is brilliant, very encouraging, he actually makes the workout enjoyable. A 5 star workout without a doubt :-)

I'd put on a stone recently and I was looking for something that was hard, energetic and would get me sweating so I could lose the weight! I saw the reviews for this and people were saying that it wasn't for begginers but more for people who were already quite fit...so I bought it!

I've done the workout just 3 times this week and already I've lost 2lbs. It may not seem much but I consider that amazing considering that I'm only 10.5 stone and wasn't even doing the whole workout. It is as it says...very challenging and does involve about 45 mins of jumping around with loads of squats. However It's very rewarding as you can't do everything at first but as you continue to use the dvd over time, you begin to get the hang of it and you feel good knowing that today, you can do what you couldn't do yesterday. The exercises are very effective, my body feels alot more toned and this is only from a weeks worth of exercise.

I highly recommend this dvd as it is a no nonsense workout and will get you results. Don't be disheartened by the fact that people say it is hard. The harder you work the better your results. Also, even if you are a begginer, I would still recommend it because you can get used to it. The music is ok and the instructor is bossy and strict. I try to remind myself that he IS on the tv and if I stop he won't have a go at me. He is really motivating and I try to hold out for as long as i can.

Try this! You won't regret it! It's only a fiver and if you do find it too hard then put it aside until you get fitter. just think about how you will look after all that hard work and keep on moving!
