Neil's Heavy Concept Album CD
Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed
NEIL Heavy Concept Album on CD. This album was originally released in the UK in 1984 when the anarchic British comedy tv series The Young Ones were at the height of their game. It was only printed on CD in the late 80's and was soon deleted. Neil launched this solo effort: very funny and it makes the most out of every sixties/psychedelica cliche. Besides his own original repertoire Neil recognises some Sixties classics from the likes of Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett (The Gnome), Donovan (Hurdy Gurdy Man), The Incredible String Band (Amoeba Song) and the not so Sixties-but-more-like-1972 progressive rockers Caravan (Golf Girl). Musical assistance mostly from Dave Stewart (not the Eurythmics guy, the guy from Bill Bruford, Hatfield & The North and Stewart & Gaskin). Dawn French and Stephen Fry also have small parts. Booklet contains liner notes by Neil (brilliant!) and some of the lyrics. Tracklisting: Hello Vegetables, Hole in My Shoe, Heavy Potato Encounter, My White Bicycle, Neil the Barbarian, Lentil Nightmare, Computer Alarm, Wayne, The Gnome, Cosmic Jam, Golf Girl, Bad Karma in the UK, Our Tune, Ken, End of the World Cabaret, No Future (God Save the Queen), Floating, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Paranoid Remix, Amoeba Song (From A Very Cellular Song).
