More `Freedom' than `Harvest',

Bernard Shakey present Greendale music by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Really there is not much more to add. Fans will know that Neil/Bernard has his own way of doing things. For me he pulls it off with this film and album cycle. The story of the Green family in Greendale. Filmed in a cinema verity style with actors miming to the words of Neil Young, while Neil and Crazy Horse, hack and chip tunes out of their respective instruments. The music is loud (more `Freedom' than `Harvest') often there are long instrumental passages and wild solos. The DTS surround mix uses the full speaker set very well and dynamic and discrete fans of surround will like this (maybe ill have to get the DVDA as well). Excellent for me it brings context to the whole album.

I spent a captivating hour watching this and was rewarded by a second viewing. The film makes great sense of the soundtrack which was released two summers ago. Its a story about a family, the Greens, and their fights against the establishment.... maybe you will see the devil in a new light?

Fantastic soundtrack but the film is crap.If Neil Young things this is a good film, then he is deluded.
