Having 300w per flash head (which is adjustable) gives the photographer more than enough light to work with. In some cases it's too much, even with the power turned right down! It's better to have too much power as you can't add what isn't there! All three flash heads can be fired by cable, wireless or slave. The kit includes cables and the wirless unit. One part is plugged into one of the heads, the other is attached to the cameras' hot shoe. Recycling times are good at around a second or so. All heads are equipped with modelling lights.

The stands don't seem that sturdy but they are sturdier than they appear. They're strong enough for the job which is the main thing.

The kit contains most things that a photographer might need, brollies, softboxes, barn doors, honeycomb and coloured filter gels. Everything has it's own bag. However, these bags are not top quality and the stitching has come apart already. The main carrying valise is of very good quality and is well padded. It's big enough to store this complete kit which is handy for portable studios.

The only bad point about this kit is the poor quality bags for the softboxes. Apart from this, I've had no real problems with this kit at all. I've replaced one of the halogen modelling light bulbs and had to replace the softbox bags with better ones. You do need to be aware of the coloured gels though! The heat from the modelling light is more than enough to melt the gel, as a work experience trainee found out when she managed to melt 3 gels in one session!

Would I recommend this kit? Yes. It does the job very well and is good value for money. Yes there are better kits available but they do cost a lot more money! I use my kit for location shoots at weddings etc. (in case of bad weather).

Having had a good, hard, look around at the Kit's available on the high street and elsewhere i took the plunge and bought this kit. Yes it did take a little while for it to come through, but it was well worth the wait, ok it does not have either written instructions or a DVD to show you how to set it all up, but, if you just have a little patience and a good look around "youtube" then you will get the idea of how to set the kit up (which is what i did when i got it...) Once i had worked out how to put it together , i used just one stand and set up the one "softbox", the "barn-door" fitting using another light and finally the two umberella's using the third light. I then did a "test shot" of my wife using the wireless remote on my D7000 which worked very well indeed, i am pleased to say. Now all i want to do is get on with using the FULL kit altogether on a photoshoot which hopefully won't be to far off.

All in all this is a great bit of kit that i would recommend to anyone who wants to get started in doing "profesional looking" portraits on a budget for friends and family, the only thing i would say against it is be carefull with the stands as they are a little flimsly on soft floors and would be a bit better if they were a little stronger, but hey what do you want for this price carbon fibre?..

Well done NEEWER a pretty good kit for the price!

I bought this kit over the lower powered kits and I'm glad I did.

This kit has enough power to make the perfect bright white background for those family portraits and modeling sessions. Plus you can turn them down and have a faster refresh time when the lower powered kits would be on full power with a longer refresh time. And they can also be turned down low to have that intimate feel to so modeling situations. Can be used on their own, as a pair, a trio or you can buy extra ones if 3 isn't already enough. I feel 3 is plenty for most situations.

The build quality for the price is awesome. The soft boxes are a bit of a fiddle to put up at 1st but you get used to them very quickly.

The stands are light weight, and if I was to really be picky, I would of hoped for the stands to be a little bigger. But again, they work very well.

It all packs down into the bag very well, and you can keep the strobe heads in the cardboard boxes to protect the bulbs.

There are lots of attachments included that are great, and you can add other things like a snoot to this kit very easy. These things are easy to find so don't worry about having to buy Bowens or Interfit to be able to buy add-ons. I did buy an extra shoot through white umbrella to flood fill the white background from each side. I would recomend that if you like that perfect white background look.

This kit will serve most levels very well...... (unless you are rich pro that wants extra control)

I bought these as a portable solution when shooting events and portraits away from the studio etc. and I'm really happy with them - especially for the price paid! The consistency of the quality and colour of the lights (something which is often missed in reviews) is spot on - there's not much worse than having to adjust the colour balance in individual shots from a portrait session. Okay, some of the accessories (brollies etc.) are quite flimsy, but tbh they're cheap enough to replace. The stands are a bit flimsy too, but as these are only used occasionally it doesn't create too much hassle - and you can always buy heavy duty ones if you wish. The heads alone are worth what I paid, in my opinion, the add-ons just made it a bit better. If you're a pro who sometimes needs a lightweight option for events, or an amateur who is just looking for a great set of lights and a few accessories to experiment with, you can't go wrong at this price.
